beach to the westThere's a right angle to the beach that goes along a jetty of rocks. You can just see the bow of a cruise ship heading out to sea.
Main BeachHere you can see a broader part of the main beach area. There are trees with picnic table as you go inland, which leads to the parking area. There's a trail from the parking lot that leads over to the fort.
The navy annex is next door, where this heli-chopper comes fromThere's a naval air station here, and you can see from this photo that it's an active base.
Of course, a few schooners are in the area too.A schooner at sea. These seem popular in the area, and the Fort Taylor image gallery has photos of one participating in reenactments.
The longer and sandier stretch of beachLooking down the beach towards the off-limits section of the Naval Air Station. There seemed to be plenty of beach for everyone though.
