Summary:
The St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park was founded in 1893.
So do they have alligators? Their January 2005 report claimed a count of
690 American alligators. While they loan out hundreds to other zoos and wildlife collections, this doesn't count the other types of critters that live at the farm.
Birds include
Herons, egrets, ibis, spoonbills, and wood storks,
South American toucans and parrots, Australian kookaburras and emus, Asian pheasants, and African turacos. Monkeys you can see at the zoo include
seven different species of endangered monkeys.
